What would happen if my child gets sick or has an emergency?

A.

A child with a communicable disease such as severe colds, cough, sore throat, headache, fever, mumps and sore eyes will not be allowed to enter school premises. Children with upset stomachs, earaches or rashes may be excused from their classes.

In cases of sudden illness or accidents that may occur on school premises, immediate medical attention (first-aid) will be provided by CTEC. Parents will then be notified and are expected to pick up their child personally or to send a pre-arranged substitute.

Emergencies and life-threatening cases that occur on school grounds are immediately referred to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center or to any hospital of the patient's choice.

What would qualify my child for enrollment in CTEC?

A.

CTEC has a non-discriminatory admissions policy for children who are 2-6 years of age. Each prospective pupil must be able to communicate verbally and must be of good physical, emotional and mental health. He should also be toilet-trained.

What requirements should we prepare upon enrollment?

• Enrollment questionnaire form completely filled up

• Photocopy of the child's birth certificate

• Medical certificate from the child's pediatrician

• 4 colored ID pictures (1x1) of the child

• 4 colored ID pictures (1x1) of each authorized fetcher

What may my child wear to school?

A.

From Mondays thru Thursdays children must wear white shirts with the CTEC logo (available at the desk), white shorts, white socks and sneakers of any color. On Fridays the students may wear casual clothing.

Is there school transport service available at CTEC?

A.

No. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent. You may coordinate with other parents to form car pools. Parents are advised to use the CTEC entrance on Connecticut Street. Meanwhile, residents of Greenhills East may use the CTEC entrance on Missouri Street.

How many students do your teachers handle per class?

A.

• Nursery 1: one teacher for every five students

• Nursery 2: one teacher for every six students

• Kinder 1: one teacher for every seven students

• Kinder 2: one teacher for every seven students

• Kinder 3: one teacher for every eight students

If need be, some classes may be grouped vertically or heterogeneously. There are 2-3 teachers presiding over each class, while the maximum number of students per class is 24. Children who continue in the program thru Kinder 3 can go directly to the first grade. CTEC students pass entrance exams and excel in the big schools.

What security does CTEC provide?

A.

CTEC is a very secure school. Guards are posted in key areas and security cameras are strategically installed all over the grounds. ID gate passes are issued to and strictly enforced for all authorized fetchers of each student and must be presented upon arrival and before leaving school premises. Parents must immediately report the loss of these ID gate passes to the school to ensure the safety of their children.

When are classes canceled?

A.

Typhoon signal number 1 automatically cancels classes for the day. Parents are also advised to keep children at home if they will be endangered by instances of political unrest or natural calamities. CTEC will also observe regular and special holidays as given by Executive Proclamation of the President of the Philippines.
